Qualifications: Bachelor of Engineering Degree (Structural, Mechanical or Industrial) (P.Eng. designation preferred) with good electrical knowledge. 5 plus years' experience in an industrial service/operations/application environment. Incumbent must have demonstrated leadership skills as well as strong "people" skills. A strong understanding of mechanical and structural principles. Prior experience with cranes/material handling is a plus.
- Bachelor of Engineering (Structural, Mechanical or Industrial), P.Eng. preferred.
- >5 years experience in relevant industry.
- Strong proficiency to read and interpret technical drawings (Structural, Mechanical, and Electrical).
- Strong proficiency in Project Management.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project and AutoCAD.
- Good understating of codes and regulations (e.g. CSA, OH&S)
- Good organization/time management skills.
- Good communication skills, written and verbal.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Must have aptitude to learn at a fast pace.
- Must be willing and able to work off the ground, often at heights.
- Must show ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
- Must show a commitment to safety.
Project Management
Lead and manage service modernization projects, including
- Initial project review and setup from frontline sales documentation.
- Lead/participate in internal and external project meetings, including.
- Kick-off meetings.
- Project update/status meetings.
- Design review meetings.
- Planning meetings.
- Post project review meetings.
- Develop and maintain internal and external project timelines in MS Project.
- Procurement of project materials and service, including.
- Prepare and release technical requests for quotation.
- Review, evaluate, and select vendor quotation.
- Prepare and release purchase orders.
- Track and monitor vendor order.
- Coordinate shipping of materials.
- Visit customer sites,
- Collection and/or verification of information for engineering.
- On-site meetings.
- Coordination and overseeing site activities.
- Commissioning and project hand off.
- Customer relationship building.
- Coordinate project activities with engineering, operations, sales, sub-contractors, and customer.
- Coordinate and support field (installation) activates.
- Prepare technical reports.
- Prepare and maintain project documentation.
- Maintain continuous dialog with internal and external project stakeholders on key milestones.
- Monitor project costs and profitability (estimated vs actual).
Sales Support
Provide technical support, as needed, to the sales staff.
- Interpretation of customer requirements and assistance with scope development.
- Recommendations on application and offerings.
- Customer (on-site) meetings.
- Prepare project sales estimates.
Technical Support
Provide technical support to other branch activities, including
- Technical expertise on product and application issues.
- Interpretations on industry codes, standards and regulations.
- Take part in appropriate training activities.
- Technical report writing.
- Travel, as required.
- Other duties as required and/or assigned.
