Ø Contribute to defining communication plans of action for the Mission, in line with the Mission’s priorities.

Ø With minimum supervision, implements relevant activities and develops tools for: public and digital communication, information analysis/environment scanning, social media, interaction with public affairs and resource mobilization, promoting international humanitarian law (IHL).

Ø Supports the Head of Mission and relevant colleagues in networking with stakeholders and represents the ICRC to various audiences.

Ø Follows political, security, military and humanitarian developments, as well as other issues relevant to the ICRC’s reputation/perception and capacity to operation in the geographic area covered, contributing to their analysis.

Ø Interprets and translates from and into local language to support communication programmes when required.

Ø Provides technical and administrative support to the communication team when required.

Ø Supports communication-related training and coaching for field staff and/or other departments when needed.

Ø Follows up on all work-related messages and correspondence with the relevant contacts and departments.

Ø Is aware of the delegation’s objectives and has a good knowledge of the Movement and other contacts relevant to the position.

Ø Collects and shares information so as to improve the ICRC’s understanding of the environment and humanitarian trends and responses.

Ø Represents the ICRC in an appropriate way during activities, in meetings and in the field, and avoids any activity that may reflect negatively on the ICRC’s image.

Ø Takes responsibility for their own professional learning and development.
