Reporting to: Mining ManagerPrimary Responsibility:The Mining Senior Trainer is a critical role that is responsible for the direct Training, competency and compliance of each operator in the mining department. The Senior Trainer is accountable to deliver the required training and hands on mentoring to ensure mining production department maintain a safe, productive and cost efficient work environment always. The operator efficiency of each mining employee will be the main performance metric for training competence, measuring machine utilisation and productivity.The mining senior trainer:Accountable for six (6) direct reports – Expat crew trainersAccountable for overseeing one hundred (100) in direct reports – Including crew leading hand, mining operator and trainee’sDuties & Responsibilities:Technical Responsibilities:Personally abide by all Company Policies and Procedures.Ensure the mining operation compliance and execution is conducted in accordance with Capital training documents, Procedures and StandardsActively work with the crew supervisors to deliver a best practice training resultEnsure crew skill mix is maintained to deliver the mining targetsEnsure ongoing crew training and forward development planning to ensure adequate skill sets and redundancy is available across the crews to meet the production forecastsEscalate any issue that impose a roadblock to achieving the mining targets or pose a risk to safety and healthIdentify and initiate continuous improvement opportunities to realise a baseline improvement to Safety, Volume or Costs of the project.Health, Safety, Environment and Quality:Present themselves fit for work with 100% compliance to the “fitness for work” policy.Demonstrate personal compliance with the instructions, policies, procedures and work instructions of Capital MiningEnsure all mining activity is conducted in line with Capital Procedures and Policies and any further direction issued from management or the client.Actively identify procedural noncompliance and train employees for correctionEnsure hazard management plans are observed with controls implemented and followedKeep all statutory reporting including, training documents, theory assessments, and ongoing operator reviews and any other item as directed by the site managementActive participation with health and safety committeesConduct daily safety inspections and audits to confirm safe and compliant mining operationsContinuous Improvement:Identify opportunities for production and process improvements in the mining area.Accountability, ownership and promotion of improvements identified.Behavioral:Treat colleagues and employees with respect and consider the value of other opinions in the teamActively mentor less experienced team members to improve and become safer and more productive.Do not take part in the propagation of rumours and untruths.Continue to hold yourself and your team to the punctuality and standards set by Capital.Conduct development planning for operators to develop and obtain additional mining competencies, and efficiency improvementProduction:Actively participate and assist crew supervisor in operator performance assessment and improvement plans40% of time is co ordinating training plans and training administration tasks60% of time is on equipment with training and mentoring in a front-line capacityConduct regular operator proficiency auditsActively lead and provide direction for the on crew mining trainerConduct regular review and upgrade amendments to training and operational compliance material to reflect best practice and improvement initiativesAssist in pit compliance audits through regular inspections with Mining Manager and crew supervisorUndertake, daily, weekly and monthly reporting internally and externallyAssist with the development and delivery of the supervisor training and on mentoring of supervisor and leading hands  Ensure training programs and entire mining department compliant to Capital processes and requirements, relevant Egyptian legislation and client training process requirements
