Action Against Hunger is an international non-governmental organization working in more than 40 countries in the fields of nutrition, food security and livelihoods, water sanitation and hygiene, and care practices. Action Against Hunger is looking for its program in Jordan MEAL Assessment Supervisor – MEAL Dept. IRBID.

Specific Objective:The assessment Supervisor is responsible of managing the assessments conducted by the MEAL team. He/she will supervise and manage a set of experienced field assessment workers. The main scope of their work is to collect data that used in the selection, proving, and improving of programmes.

Objective 1: Organize and follow data collection and processing:
Activities:
• Prepare data collection plans;
• Determine training needs for the staffs;
• Ensure harmonization and follow up of data entry and analysis, and activity indicators;
• Assess continuously the projects’ follow-up methods and propose improvements ;
• Analyse and draft reports of the assessments conducted;
• Plan activities according to the expected progress of the department/project;
• Support in monitoring exercises data collection process;
• Support in developing appropriate questionnaires with the MEAL officers.

Objective 2: Supervise and manage the team when delegated by the line manager:
Activities:

• Participate in the recruitment process when required;
• Report training needs to the line manager;
• Assist and participate in the implementation of training sessions on the base level;
• Train staff of the organization, in relation to the position scope of work;
• Explain and ensure implementation of the assessment methodologies in collaboration with line manager;
• Follow up the assessment team progress and submit activity reports to the line manager.
• Organize the work of the assessment team to optimize the capacity of each team member;
• Carryout performance evaluation and appraisal of the assessment team.

Objective 3: Implement MEAL department activities:

• Propose solutions or improvements to ensure the smooth running of the projects;
• Ensure development and maintenance of MEAL databases;
• Ensure monitoring and updating of mobile data collection tools used by the organization;
• Any other tasks designated by line manager.

Reporting Requirements:
• Generate all required reports and data/data analysis of monitoring, PDMs, spot-checks.
• Prepare monthly report of the tasks completed by MEAL in Irbid
• Matrices, tables, graphs
• Support in completing the monthly Activity Progress Reports (APRs) with MEAL Manager
• Any other report related to MEAL/MEAL intervention.
