- Ensures compliance of policies and procedures with safety standards and in particular Fire and Disaster Plan, Laboratory Health and Safety Standards, MSDS, Manuals and Documentation.
- Refers queries to the unit senior or supervisor when needed.

- Performs quality controls, quality assurance as per department and unit guidelines.
- Operates, calibrates and conducts performance checks on clinical laboratory equipment.
- Provides technical support to other Medical Technologists and/or Technicians.
- Maintains all records according to laboratory policy and procedures.
- Following written laboratory safety manual and standard operating procedures required for the tasks assigned.
- Reviewing and understanding the hazard of materials and processes in their laboratory research prior to conducting work.
- Consulting with Laboratory safety officer before using highly hazardous materials or conducting certain higher rish experimental procedures.
- Comply with the standards laid down by the Central Board for Accreditation of Healthcare Institutions (CBAHI) and Joint Commission International Accreditation Standards (JCIA), performs the duties necessary to support and achieve accreditation.
- Through the chain of command and/or occurrence variance report, identifies any occurrence not consistent with the operation of the hospital or standard of service for patients, employees or visitors and situations that put patients, staff or visitors at risk for injury or other harm.
