Design of electrical power substations. This includes preparing drawings such as Layout , Sections, and details for substations as well as grounding, foundation layout, and Cable Routing plans.Develop and evaluate conceptual substation design options to initiate transmission and distribution system projects.Develop technical descriptions detailing physical substation design project scope of work for project execution plans and facility studies.Perform engineering analysis/calculations to support substation designs, including but not limited to grounding analysis per standards, and shielding studies for lightning protection, AC/DC Load calculation & battery sizing.Reviewing substation construction package detailing foundation and electrical designs.Identify, specify and requisition all required substation materials required to build the substation with a working knowledge of substation equipment including but not limited to equipment’s, grounding cable routing, Cables & transformers.Provide quality reviews of construction packages prior to issuance to construction.Provide technical assistance during the construction of projects.Provide design assistance for documentation of substation asset maintenance and upgrades -Specification for purchase of all major equipment contained in substation projects (i.e. large power transformers, breakers, voltage regulators, switches, surge arresters, bus/wire sizes, etc.)
