A Nurse Assistant will assist the Registered Nurse in the clinic / inpatient units carrying out non-nursing duties

Duties and Responsibilities (Main Tasks):

Management of the Patient

      1.         Assists the Registered Nurse in the clinic environment.

      2.         Chaperons the patient when being interviewed and examined by the Doctor.

      3.         Weighs the patient and takes their temperature if needed.

      4.         Assists the patient to undress/re-dress.

      5.         Prepares the patient for examination.

      6.         Acts as a guide to direct patients to other departments in the Hospital.

      7.        Maintains good reliable documentation of nursing observations and actions, under constant supervision of a Registered Nurse. 

      8.        Ensure the implementation of Accreditation Canada Standards related to area practices.
