ResponsibilitiesAs a media buyer, you'll need to Perform the following and be responsible for:Identify the target audience for a particular media campaign and decide how best to communicate to that audienceKeep up to date with industry research figures, including distribution figures for social media channels and analysis of audience figures across all media advertisingMonitor buying strategiesLiaise and build relationships with category managers and media sales companiesnegotiate with media sales companies to obtain the best rates and most appropriate media spaces in online, social media advertisingWork with the media planning team to ensure that campaigns are workable and keep the category management team updated on the approved media planCommunicate with media sales people to adjust media schedules in response to audience figuresBook individual advertising spots, e.g. pages, posters, internet banners and broadcast advertsEnsure that the adverts run accurately so that the desired media message is seen and/or heard by customers.Attend meetings with category management team in order to report on campaign strategies and resultsManage budgets, including preparing costings for Media Marketing Head and producing spending updates throughout the campaignCollect and analyze sales and customers feedback data/analysisUndertake research on industry developments in your area, new opportunities and competitors' activity as well as trend analysis and marketing research to improve margins, basket average, organic growth and new customers acquisition at lowest cost. Analyze the effectiveness of the campaign and use this data to inform future campaigns.
