The Head of Department will efficiently manage the staff, curriculum, and resources of the department, and liaison with other Heads of Departments to enhance the academic development of the school.JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Perform the duties of a teacherLead and manage department staff, providing constant communication and guidanceProvide professional development to staff as neededImplement curriculum objectivesContribute to the development of the whole school’s curriculumParticipate in staff interviews when necessary and contribute with resource allocation recommendationsAssess, record, and analyze the achievement of studentsImprove student achievement and attainment within the subject areaDevelop teaching practices within the departmentEnsure the development of holistic and balanced curricula and syllabi that are in line with the school’s educational objectivesSet examination papers, coordinate marking schemes, and moderate examinations and assessment processesManage day-to-day departmental operationsKeep up to date with changes in local/national curriculaMaintain effective, professional relationships with all staff members and parents
